The Debut Gardener program is to educate, encourage and motivate consumers to grow their own food, flowers, or foliage and become more earth-conscious. 

The Debut Gardener will learn how to grow from seed and the stages afterward. They will learn when to put your seedling into the ground and how to continue caring for it through its growth process. Our plants need a strong and healthy root system

Learn about the friendly bugs

There are bugs we want in our garden. They are the ones that will keep away the unwanted bugs. These unwanted bugs will damage our gardens or eat them up. Gardens need the friendly bugs to help grow the food, flowers and foliage.

Get your hands dirty:

There are steps to growing from seed. Each step requires different types of soil and maybe even soil help mates. The Debut Gardener will learn the different types of soil to use when planting from seed.

Compost:

What is compost and what are the benefits? How to make compost at home to feed your plant. The Debut Gardener will learn the benefits of compost, where it comes from and how to make it at home.

Tools of the trade:

The debut gardener will see first hand and use tools gardeners use to facilitate planting. Learn hacks for tools which are quite useful and effective, you may have some around the house
